Veneer
Wood veneer is natural wood cut into thin leaves and glued onto MDF, particleboard or plywood. Nativu supplies quarter-cut and crown-cut natural wood veneer, led by walnut veneer, oak veneer, beech veneer and ash veneer. We also supply veneer in a thicker cut, known in Turkey as papel.
Walnut veneer
We offer two main walnut veneers:
- American walnut veneer: quarter-cut and coloured, with a dark, even tone.
- Turkish walnut veneer: coloured and white (white Turkish walnut), with livelier grain and colour variation.
Walnut veneer is one of the most popular choices for furniture, doors, wall panelling and high-end interiors.
Oak veneer
We supply three oak veneers: oak, American white oak and red oak. Oak and American white oak come quarter-cut and crown-cut; red oak comes crown-cut. With its light tone and pronounced grain, oak veneer is widely used for kitchen cabinets, doors and office furniture.
Beech veneer
Beech veneer comes quarter-cut, crown-cut and coloured. Its fine, even texture takes stain and lacquer well.
Other wood veneers
We also supply ash (including white ash), sapele, maple and pine veneer, and we buy and sell tropical veneers: tell us the species you are looking for.

Quarter cut vs crown cut
- Quarter cut: a cut that gives a straight, parallel grain.
- Crown cut: a cut whose grain forms a flame or cathedral pattern.
- Coloured: veneer that carries the heartwood colour of the species (walnut, beech).
- White: light-coloured veneer (for example white Turkish walnut, white ash).
Thick veneer (papel)
Thick veneer, called papel in Turkey, is veneer cut thicker. It looks the same: the same species, the same grain, the same cut. Only the thickness differs. Standard veneer is under 1 mm; thick veneer starts at 1 mm and usually goes up to 4 mm.
The extra thickness leaves room for sanding and later refinishing, so the surface stays close to solid wood. We supply it mostly in oak and walnut. It is used for table tops, door faces, stairs and the top layer of flooring.
| Veneer | Thick veneer (papel) | |
|---|---|---|
| Thickness | Under 1 mm | 1 mm and above, typically up to 4 mm |

| Sanding allowance | Small | Large |
